This is a list of hints for Six Silver Bullets, arranged by spoiler severity. There is no published official walkthrough of the game, and some puzzles are quite difficult to solve. ============================================== First: General tips with no Spoiler potential: ============================================== * Time passes randomly and capriciously. It is very unfair. Such is life. You wake up at approximately 6 A.M, with 18 hours until you fall asleep. * Sleep is Death. * Death is not the end. * Night will fall with 6 hours remaining in the game. During this time, many exciting new locations will open up. * You can end your mission by reporting to the Docks with three hours, or less, until you fall asleep. This is, ostensibly anyway, your only way out of the city. * Searching is also random, and also very unfair. You might have to search the same location multiple times to find anything valuable. * Many elements of the game will change from one playthough to another. * Many things, however, will remain the same from game to game. The game tacitly acknowledges this. * There is, therefore, nothing wrong (and in fact much that is right) about using knowledge gleaned from "failed" playthroughs. * Agents will only respond to their name if it is typed in full, and if both the first and the last name is capitalized * It may seem elementary, but if you feel stuck, try something different: talk to someone you feel inclined to kill. Wander aimlessly. Revel in uncertainty. It's not so bad. * There are 36 possible missions the player is prompted to accomplish at the beginning of the game * Every mission will prompt you to "kill" two agents, and "protect" one agent. It's up to you to figure out how to do this. * Every mission will also give you one other objective. It may take some time to figure out how to accomplish these objectives. ================================================= Second: General tips with Some Spoiler potential: ================================================= * It is possible that your friends might be your enemies, and your enemies might be your friends. * It is equally possible that everyone in the city is your enemy...or no one at all. * The Brown Agent knows your mission, and is the best person to talk to about how to accomplish it. * Many locations, particularly the library and the mansion, are significantly more important than they first appear. * There is only a peripheral connection between "winning" the game and accomplishing your mission: you can win without accomplishing your mission. * There are multiple ways to win. Some are far, far easier than others. * Most decorative objects are there for show, and have no bearing on your objectives what-so-ever...a small number are crucially important. * Almost every important "clue" in the game can be found from multiple sources. ========================================================= Third: Specific tips with significant Spoiler potential: ========================================================= * Try searching the penthouse. * Try searching the nightclub. * Try talking to, threatning, or killing the Yellow Agent * The safe combination is the name of a spy * The Enemies of Freedom are based out of the skyscraper * The Indigo Agent will come for you if you make enough trouble * If you've figure out your name, that's only half the puzzle... ================================ Fourth: objective-specific tips: ================================ * The Governor is in the Governor's mansion, but only at night, and she will only arrive if the party is in full swing. * The Crime Lord is in the nightclub, but note that your mission is to apprehend him not kill him. * The Green Dossier is out there somewhere. Search for it... * The Gray Microfilm Canister is in the Governor's bedroom. * The Cyclotron can be sabotaged with explosives or careful meddling. Don't meddle too much though. * The Enemies of Freedom have a guide for how to repair the cyclotron. * The location of the dead drop changes every time you play. ================================ Fifth: A Challenge ================================ If you can successfully figure out your name, and use this knowledge to kill the Gold Agent, write me at Theodidactus@gmail.com. I will create a special list of the first five people who solve this quite difficult puzzle.
