Section 51 - Inside The Airship

inair is a room

printed name of inair is "Inside The Airship Gondola".

inair is up from inner bailey.

Description of inair is "The gondola is roughly cigar shaped. It looks like it was once a luxury cruiser with exquisite wooden panelling, and plush furniture, but has now been commandeered into a battle ship. Rough holes have been cut into both side of the ship, out of which stick the muzzles of a dozen cannons."

Somewhere troops are a scenery object inside inair.

Description of somewhere troops is "[some_description]"

A person can be vicked

To say some_description:

If player is not vicked:

Say "The Somewhere troops are a blur of activity as they load, fire and reload the cannons, the noise is deafening and the gondola is filling up with smoke and the smell of cordite.";

Else:

Say "The Somewhere troops lie dead on the floor, they are still slightly smoking."

The King of Somewhere is inside inair.

Indefinite article of King of Somewhere is "The".

Description of king of somewhere is

"The King is in his mid-sixties. He has become portly since you last saw him and his ample frame is squeezed into his junta uniform. On his chest is a large collection of medals, all of them self-awarded. He has a ridiculous moustache that is crimped and points upwards at a 45-degree angle on either side of his bulbous nose."

Instead of talking to the King of Somewhere for the first time:

say "'So, my brother's first born, you couldn't help but interfere in the affairs of state could you!? You should have stayed in your filthy Nowhere hovel in the grim North!'"

Instead of talking to the King of Somewhere for second time:

Say "'You were a fool to refuse the throne and my brother was a fool to let the royal line die. A republic indeed!'"

Instead of talking to the King of Somewhere for third time:

Say "My troops are making mincemeat of your puny insurrection.' says the King. [paragraph break]You can see from the rate of fire of the cannons and the lack of direct hits incoming that he telling the truth."

Instead of talking to the King of Somewhere for the sixth time:

Say "'Soon Nowhere will be nothing!' says the King laughing manically.'"

Instead of talking to King of Somewhere for the fifth time:

Say "Once these Nowhere troops are destroyed the prime minister will be next, I shan't need his surrender now!'"

Instead of talking to King of Somewhere for the fourth time:

Say "'That stolen uniform wasn't going to fool anybody up here!'"

Instead of asking King of Somewhere about "Bony King":

Say "'He was a fool for letting the royal line die, now I'm here to bring it back to life."

Instead asking king of somewhere about something:

Say "The King laughs in your face."

Ozzy Time is a scene.

Ozzy Time begins when the player has been inside inair for exactly six turns.

Ozzy time ends when player is lasted.

FinalOZ is a person.

FinalOz is nowhere.

Printed name of finaloz is "The Wizard of Ounces (dead)".

Description of FinalOz is "Poor brave Oz is dead, his cape is singed and smoking slightly."

understand "oz" and "wizard" as finaloz.

finaloz is fixed in place.

When ozzy time begins:

Move FinalOz to inair;

Say "Just as you are about to give up hope the friendly face of Oz appears at the top of rope ladder, he hauls himself up, and before the troops can get to him he starts firing the bizarre weapon he is carrying.[paragraph break]A rapid fire of electrical bolts fire from his contraption. As each one hits a soldier they jerk around uncontrollably then fall to the fall dead, with steam rising from their uniforms.[paragraph break] You realise with creeping horror that each time Oz fires he too gets an electric shock. His face is contorted in pain but he continues to fire until all are dead except the King of Somewhere.[paragraph break] Oz collapses to the floor. You grab Oz's contraption and point it at the King.[paragraph break].";

Now wizard2 is nowhere;

Now player is vicked;

Now player is mobile;

Now king of somewhere is nowhere;

Move king2 to inair;

Now player is lasted;

Move contraption to player.

Instead of going down from inair:

If player is stiff:

Say "'Oi! Don't you move a muscle!' shouts the King.";

Otherwise:

Say "You decide you're not quite ready to face the world again just yet."

King2 is a person.

King2 is nowhere.

Printed name of king2 is "King of Somewhere".

Description of king2 is "The King is in his mid-sixties. He has become portly since you last saw him and his amble frame is now squeezed into a junta uniform, on his chest is a large collection of medals, all of them self-awarded.[paragraph break] He has a ridiculous moustache that is crimped and points upwards at a 45 degree angle on either side of his bulbous nose. He is sweating profusely, and eyeing up your weapon nervously while glancing at the exit."

Say "The King shuffles towards the exit."

Say "The King is at the exit, if you don't shoot him now he will escape."

Every turn when king time has been happening for exactly four turns:

Say "You just can't bring yourself to shoot the King, he's still your Uncle after all. He sees your hesitation and dissapears down the rope ladder, shouting 'Coward! You'll regret letting me go!'[paragraph break]. You throw down the contraption in disgust and wonder if you have done the right thing";

Now king2 is nowhere;

Now player is endchoice.

Instead of talking to king2:

Say "'Well what you going to do?' says the King 'Are you a coward like your father?'"

Instead of asking king2 about something:

Say "The king laughs in your face."

instead of dropping contraption:

If king2 is nowhere:

Say "You throw down the contraption in weary disgust.";

Otherwise:

Say "For second you consider dropping the contraption, it's been a long day! But you resist."

Shooting is an action applying to one visible thing.

Understand "shoot at [something]", "Shoot [something]", "shoot [someone]" and "shoot at [someone]" as shooting.

Instead of shooting something:

If player is carrying contraption:

Say "That would be pointless.";

Otherwise:

Say "You are not carrying a weapon."

Instead of shooting someone:

If player is carrying contraption:

Say "Murder isn't your style.";

Otherwise:

Say "You are not carrying a weapon."

Deadking is an object.

Deadking is nowhere.

Printed name of deadking is "The King of Somewhere (dead)".

Deadking is fixed in place.

Description of Deadking is "The corpse of the King of Somewhere. It still smoking."

Instead of shooting king2:

Say "You summon up your bravery and pull the trigger on the contraption. Its mild hum builds into a loud fizzing and then 'ZAPPP!' a bolt of brilliant blue-white light fires and hits the King.[paragraph break] The King jerks around like a puppet on a string before collapsing to the floor. At the same time a blinding bolt of pain shoots up your arm - you drop the contraption on to the floor.";

instead of asking donella about something when donella is inside inair:

Say "'Nevermind about that! What are you going to do with Oz's gadget?'"

Every turn when ending has been happening for exactly two turns:

Move Donella to inair;

Say "You look out of the gondola and see that the battle in the city plaza has turned decisively for the Nowhere troops. At that moment there is a noise behind you - you turn to see Donella entering the airship. 'Hey!' she says, 'What a day, I thought making sandcastles was about as exciting as it was going to get!'[paragraph break] She walks over to Oz's body and kneels down next to him, 'The poor soul' she says, 'He helped me set up my shack when I came back from sea, I didn't have any friends back then.'[paragraph break] Donella sniffs and wipes her eyes, then says, 'Hey, what's this?' She picks up a black box from underneath the folds of Oz's cloak and hands it to you.";

Move button box to player.

Instead of talking to donella when donella is inside inair:

Say "'So don't keep me in suspense! What are you going to do now?'"

printed name of button box is "Alternative Universe Transporter."

Say "It's too important (and probably too dangerous!) to drop it. You need to decide whether to press it, or give it back to Donella."

say "It is a black box with a large red push button on top. Written on the side it says [']Alternative Universe Transporter (product of O.E.D.)['][paragraph break]Something tells you that you need to make a decision, either press the large red button or give the button box back to Donella.".
