Sir Ramic Hobbs and the Oriental Wok ------------------------------------ Unpacking: The product can be unpacked on a PC, by copying WOKZIP.EXE into a directory of your choice, and executing WOKZIP. This produces all the run-time files, mrun.exe (the AGT runtime), and WOK.WLK - a walkthrough. Running: This should then run in ANY pc, if you type WOK . So far, I have had the adventure working on vanilla MSDOS, an MSDOS window under NT, an MSDOS window under Windows 3.11, and an MSDOS window in Windows95. The WOK.OPT file contains what I have found to be the most universally acceptable screen options (colours, numbers of lines etc.). If you want to alter these, type ESC when you're in the game, and use the pop-up menu... but bear in mind that changing colours may affect the legibility of some message text. In extremis, rename or delete wok.opt, and run without options. This produces a standard screen and colour configuration which even works on 10-year old PC ATs with Mono, CGA or EGA screens. Winning: There is a HELP text in every room, and most objects can be examined (and read where appropriate). Typing ASSIST gives fuller instructions. Gil Williamson
