This walk through is a bare bones solution to my game On the Farm. Even though it will win the game, there are other things you can do that are not included here. Please Note: This game includes some random elements, mostly surrounding Grandma's wandering about the house. You may not be able to perform certain actions while she is around. However, here are some simple rules that will help the player get around any problems she is causing. First, Grandma will never leave a room that you are in. So, if you want to get her out of a room, you must leave it first. Second, in general, Grandma will decide to move roughly every 5 to 7 turns. Every once in a while your grandparents will have something to say unbidden. If they ask you questions your answers will not affect the outcome of the game. However, your answers may affect what you learn about them. I have included room names in the walk through after direction commands to ensure that the player does not get lost while trying to follow the transcript. START Porch Grandpa asks you an opening question. >yes (or you can answer no, doesn't matter) >n Sitting Room Grandma asks for a hug (She will be here the first time you enter the sitting room. She hasn't started wandering yet.) >hug grandma (or not, it's up to you) >l >u Upstairs Landing >x picture >w Grandparents' Bedroom >take dentures >x dentures >x bed >e Upstairs Landing >e Guest Bedroom >x books >read books >x bear >hug bear >look in bear >take diary >read diary >i >w Upstairs Landing >d Sitting Room >show diary to grandma >ask grandma about bear >x stuffing >fix bear >e Kitchen >take basin >look in basin >ask grandma about fight (grandma may not be in the kitchen at this point in your game) >ask grandma about birthday >w Sitting Room >s Porch >ask grandpa about fight (grandpa will always be on the porch) >ask grandpa about birthday >l >x bin >look in bin >take magazine >read magazine >l >x chime >take chime >push chime EXAMPLE OF GRANDPA ASKING A QUESTION Grandpa asks, "Do you kids still play checkers? She then proceeds to drag you (quite painfully) outside by your ear. Front Yard Ack!
